A long time ago, seals never went in the sea and only lived on land. In Antarctica, there lived a seal called Sienna. She loved to play with her friend Daisy the dolphin. Every morning Daisy and Sienna woke up to one of them shouting, "come on get up!" "Come in for breakfast and then we'll go and play jump over the ice-blocks," yelled the other. One day Daisy and Sienna didn't play with each other. Daisy was practising her jumping and Sienna was looking for fish for lunch. Suddenly, Princess the Polar Bear jumped on to the ice-block Sienna was sitting on! "Help!" Sienna screamed. "Oh Daisy, Help!" She screamed while running across the ice. On Daisy's tenth jump she turned around and ran after Sienna.
There was a magic Seahorse who saw that Daisy and Sienna were good animals and decided to help them. He made Daisy come up with a cunning plan. "We have to jump," said Daisy calmly. "What!" said Sienna a little louder than she meant to. She felt very puzzled. "But, but, we, we c-cant." Sienna whispered trembling with fear. "Yes we can," said Daisy.
Just then, Princess started charging towards them. Sienna screamed. Princess was getting closer! Sienna ran to ehr friend who was sprinting towards the edge of the ice. "I'm jumping!" called Daisy. "Ok, we will jump," decided Sienna.
Just as they were about to jump, something pushed them into the water and pulled them into a small cave. "Hello," said a calm soothing voice. "I am a magic seahorse. You both are good and didn't need to be chased. Therefore I helped you, you can now swim." "Thank you," said Sienna and Daisy.
After they headed up to the ice again. That is why seals are semiaquatic.
